Random House

Random House is the largest publisher of English language trade books. The company was founded in 1925 by Bennett Cerf and Donald Klopfer who sought to publish a few books on the side at random.

The business of publishing books on the side at random appears to have paid off in a world where people tend to read books, on the side, at random.

Random House currently includes the following imprints: Bantam Dell Publishing Group, the Crown Publishing Group, Three Rivers Press, the Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group, the Knopf Publishing Group and the Random House Audio Publishing Group which publishes many of your favorite audio books.

The Fodor's division of Random House publishes guide books for over 300 popular destinations.

The Living Language creates materials to help you master the languages used in locations around the world.

If you prefer to study online, the Living Language Online section of Random House offers online courses for popular languages including Spanish, French, German and the language I aspire to learn: English.

Crass jokes aside, the course Inglés is geared toward Spanish speakers wishing to learn English.

Buying direct from the publishers can cut out the middleman and it allows the publishers to start creating web enhanced versions of their offerings.
