It is very easy for a programmer to make a coding mistake that could expose customers' credit cards and personal information to hackers.

As such, it is wise for small businesses looking to sell products online to use the Yahoo's hosted services and to sell their product through a trusted Yahoo Store.

I am a big fan of companies of custom coded web sites. Having suffered from hacked sites and dishonest employees at the webhost, I've come to appreciate the added integrity one gets through the dedicated ecommerce infrastructure of Yahoo.

My current thought on web development is that a company is wise to have their presences on multiple servers. For example one might have a blog with updates, a standard web site for communications, and a Yahoo store for actual sales.

Having more than one web site ends up creating a symbiotic relation between the sites which increases traffic.
