The Intercontinental Hotel Group is a family of hotels with thousands of quality hotels around the world. The namesake of the group is the luxurious Intercontinental Hotel which you will find at leading resorts. The company also owns many of the most prized prized hotel properties in industry including The Willard in Washington, DC, The Barclay in New York City and Mark Hopkins in San Francisco.

Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express

The most recognized portion of IHG Group family is the venerable Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. You will find Holiday Inns in most US destinations. Holiday Inn tends to be a cut above the competition. The Holiday Inn is often centrally located in the town served. Many Holiday Inns have large conference facilities. The Holiday Inn Express is often on routes into town and generally have smaller meeting rooms. The company IHG Group was founded in 2003, when its parent company, Six Continents, split into two entities. Mitchell Brothers PLC took over the pubs and restaurants while IHG maintains the hotel franchise.
