David's Bridal
David's Bridal is a chain of bridal super stores carrying a large selection of bridal gowns, tuxedos, prom dresses and wedding accessories.
The first David Bridal store was opened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida during the 1950s. The store was purchased by Phil Youtie in the 1970s who kept the company's name but moved from a traditional bridal boutique to a warehouse model carrying mulitple dresses in all sizes.
The store was purchased by May Department Stores in 2000 and was sold to Leornard Green Private Equity Firm in November 2006 (a year after Federated Department Stores acquired May).
Currently, David Bridal operates 300+ stores in 45 states. The DavidsBridal.com web site includes dresses, invitations, tuxedos and a guide to local store services. According to Wikipedia (drawn 1/18/2010), the web site has more generous return policy than the local store. Be sure to check the return policy on the items you order.
